MAHABALESHWAR:-
A hill town in the Western Ghats, apart from its
strawberries, Mahabaleshwar is also known for its numerous rivers, magnificent
cascades and majestic peaks. This hill station in Maharashtra is set amidst the

- ELEPHANT’S HEAD POINT:- Elephant’s Head Point, also known as Needle’s Point, lies
atbthe extreme end of the mountain range beyond Lodwick Point. Resembling to
the Elephant’s Head, this extended ridge is the most popular tourist spot in
Mahabaleshwar that offers the stunning views of the Sahyadri mountain range.
- ARTHUR’S SEAT:- Situated at an elevation of 1470 m above the sea level,
Arthur’s seat, which is popularly known as the Queen of all the points, is
named after Arthur Malet who lost his wife and amonth old daughter in a
disastrous ferry accident in the Savitri River.
- VENNA LAKE:- The Venna Lake of Maharashtra, formerly built by Shri Appasaheb Maharaja of Satara in the year 1942
claims to be one of the famous tourist spots. It gives a scenic beauty which
make visitor relax and fresh of mind. This makes an attraction towards
Mahabaleshwar to tourist.
- MAHABALESHWAR TEMPLE:- Built in the Hemadant architectural style of South India by
the Chanda Rao More dynasty, this 16th century temple is dedicated
to the most revered deity of Hindu religion “LORD SHIVA”.
- TAPOLA:- Tapola is one of the famous tourism places in the state
which is popularly known as the satellite village of Mahabaleshwar. It is a
perfect destination for the Nature Lovers and is correctly called the Mini
Kashmir of Maharashtra.
- PRATAPGAD FORT PEAK:- It is situated 24 kms away from Mahabaleshwar, the Famous
Hill Station Of Maharashtra, in Satara district and stands 1,080 m above the
sea level. Pratapgad fort was built by Shivaji and has two divisions, the upper
fort and the lower fort.
